We strive to improve the lives of our students through education of Academic, Behavioral, Cognitive, and Social Skills.

We provide scholarships to graduating High School students who have demonstrated outstanding community service.

Through the Youth Bureau, the Friends assist in providing back to school supplies to students who couldn’t otherwise afford these essentials. In addition, food baskets and Thanksgiving dinners are distributed to needy families in the community.

The Friends of the Glen Cove Youth Board is a 501(c)(3) organization that was formed for the purpose of supporting and augmenting many of the programs that are offered by the Glen Cove Youth Bureau.
Along with supporting the efforts of the Youth Bureau, the Friends also offer scholarships to Glen Cove youth who demonstrate extraordinary service to their community.

SYEP Green Teams are for 8th and 9th graders who will be 14 by July 1. Applicants have little to no work experience. The program is designed to teach young teens work responsibility (punctuality, teamwork, following directions, and community involvement). SYEP Interns are 10th-12th graders, many stepping up from SYEP Green Teams. After pre-placement training, teens apply for internships offered within City of Glen Cove Departments, non-profit organizations, and local business partnerships. Training includes goal setting and time management, comprehensive resume writing, master interview techniques, work ethics and etiquette, guest speakers, and video presentations.
